So, who's your favorite author? What are you favorite books?
My favorite author has to be Chuck Palahniuk, I just love his books. ^.^ My favorite book is probably Haunted, by Chuck. 8P My favorite series is probably Silverwing, I used to love Warriors, but I haven't read their new ones in awhile.

Ugh what a hard subject! (goes to power read her 328 books)
Okay my favorite author is..... between Kelly Armstrong, Tamara Peirce and Hiromu Arakawa, I think. So many authors! .... Anyways Favorite book has to be Felidea by ummm. Oh god what's his name! Well I can't remember but he's a German author xD And my favorite series is between Tamara's never ending sets of series of Tortall, or the Warriors. And the newer warriors are all pretty good in my opinion. They're getting more intense and awesome. And just because, favorite book movie would also be Felidea. Not as close as all book movies aren't, but it is almost there!
Still these opinions mean nothing. Like I said 328 books, on my first books shelf *looks at her library of books* so it will be hard to choose absolute favorites.

Ha, I know how you feel. It's always hard to pick favorite books. x3 I've never actually read Felidea, I've only seen the movie, but I did like it. :3

$400? Jeez, that's expensive! Do you have a library that has it nearby or something?

Well it's like that because it is old and rare, and my library isn't big enough or able to supply funds for books that expensive, especially when it's a regular fiction book.

I have enough money and all, but I don't know if I want to use it on one book is the thing. I know I can get cheaper copys for around $40 but still I'm a new book type of person. So I'm not sure yet x3

Oh dear, that's a toughie. I've read so many books, it's hard to have favorites, let me see though...
Jun Mochizuki My gosh~ Do I love her. She's the author behind my favorite manga series, of which I do consider books, they just have pictures with the text. Anyways, I adore her plot, it's brilliant. The characters are simple stunning too, and the relationships between the characters add onto all of that. She has my full support, and I love her works so far. <3 (She wrote Pandora Hearts, by the way~)
Lilith Saintcrow She too, is brilliant. I adore her books for the fact that her main characters are female, and they have an awesome character. They generally are sarcastic, and are far from helpless. If anything, they can fend for themselves, which a lot of female characters anywhere really need to start doing more of. Aside from the mature content of her series, I really do recommend her books to one of you someday. Her genre is in fantasy or Sci-Fi, and has quite interesting plots within them. From demons to were-animals and demon hunters, I find her works interesting!
Deborah Chester I have only read one of her series, and this being the Alien Chronicles. I've read these books a few years back, and they remain a favorite now. The plot and world set up is simply gorgeous, and well thought out. The different species in the book range from beautiful royal looking creatures, to your average grotesque ones. With them come the ranks of power and importance they hold in the world, and it's easily exerted. It's also hard to forget who is who when it comes to the characters. I haven't found anyone I could actually hate in that series, they all have a certain place in my heart.
Christopher Paolini I'm finally bringing up a male author here~ Let's see, I've read two of the Inheritance books that he wrote, and it's simply amazing. Although, I must say the second book deterred me toward the end. The fight with Eragon and Murtaghe (sp?) broke my heart. Especially since they're brothers, so it seems; and Murtaghe was so easily manipulated. Seriously, between Eragon and an abusive father, who exactly would you stay with? I'd choose Eragon, but human greed often does tend to intervene. That aside, the books are interesting... I have yet to actually read the third.
Hiromu Arakawa I must reward her for good plots and addicting characters as well, in her stunning series of Full Metal Alchemist. This used to be a top favorite, and the manga reigns supreme of the anime. The plot gets repetitive really quick, though. That's why I stopped reading it after a certain point. I find the world fascinating, though. Specifically Chimeras~
With this, I have to list some books I absolutely can't stand. This may not be the right thread, but I'd like to see your opinions on the books as well.
The Twilight Series I haven't even read the books, and I have to say I dislike it already. The fan following for the thing is odd, as well as it has some odd people. Such things and people I have dealt with enough it deters me from the book without a single glance. Another thing I must complain about is how they ruined vampires and werewolves both. Vampires, it's known, can't go into daylight, their skin is too sensitive for that. They'd burn up on impact. Plus, they shine. How odd is that? You don't burn up in sunlight, rather, you sparkle? Let's get Van Helsing, this new fascinating discovery makes it easier to hunt vampires! With werewolves, they can't transform at will. Look at Wolfman, he couldn't transform until what? A full moon or until the moon was out. He couldn't just shift by midday. Perhaps if the moon could be viewed on that certain day (it's possible) it would be likely to happen. Otherwise, no. Plus, I heard the characters in this book are outright moronic. However, this is just my opinion on things.
Warriors Don't get me wrong, I used to adore these books, but now... Not so much. This too has an odd fan-following, which deters me from it. There have been peers from my school who started acting like they were cats just because of the books... It's odd, to say the least. I dislike it when people ruin books for me just by their behavior. Not that I have anything against them... With that being said and done... I have never read Felidae, is it good? I've watched part of the movie, but haven't finished it. Another book series I like is Guardians of Gahoole... I haven't read the most recent books, and forgot the author.

Eek! That's one hell of an expensive book!
Well, it's a long list.
By Ayn Rand Atlas Shrugged I recommend this to all here, it's a very good fiction guide in this time of economical hardship, and this is the book that helped me become such a good leader. Fountainhead We The Living
How To Win Friends And Influence People by Dale Carnegie I also recommend this, this one will help all understand what the correct way to handle people is.
Fairtax by Neil Boortz
all of the stories in the Sherlock Holmes series by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle *no, I won't list all the titles here*
by William Manchester A World Only Lit By Fire The Glory And The Dream
The Passion Of Ayn Rand by Barbara branden.
*takes a deep breath* I am finally done, what a long list, huh?
