So there are plenty of role-plays out there. I know I see them all the time and there are plenty in our advertisements. But my questions to you all.
What's your favorite? What did you start with?
My current favorite: Unique fantasy animal, yet to have found one but I know it would be my favorite! It's hard to say what I started with. I joined a Avatar The Last Air bender fan forum a long time ago and on the side role-played characters like they were talking to us, but I joined a wolf rp as my first real one, so it's hard to decide *shrugs*
Still if anyone has a unique animal RPG or wants to start one I have my hand up x3

I guess my favorite would be any animal RP, fantasy or not. Though, I've never role played any human related things, so I don't know if I can judge. xD
The first role play I joined was a Warrior role play, I think. It was a really big one, with 2,000+ members, but it was also really messy and the staffing wasn't that great. =/
I just barely joined a fantasy wolf role play like 20 minutes ago xP I'm still making my character.

lol I think wolf has gained the name of "all new roleplayers here" because I know hundreds that have started with them. Not saying your new or anything >.> Just that's what happened I guess.
I guess by unique I would mean magical deer! Because the animation Evergreen inspired my muse and I want to join/make a rp as such.

Yeah, wolf role plays tend to attract a lot of new role players. I've seen tons of adds for them where they misspell every other word with a really uncreative plot. x3
A deer role play, huh? Well, that definitely is unique! xD You probably wouldn't have much luck finding one though. I've only ever met one person who said they wanted to make one.

I assumed as much. Deer are rare, especially fantasy type. But one day when I find a msall communtiy of weird deer obsessed people we will make a deer rp.
And I agree with the wolf one. Though now a days there are some increasingly advanced ones.

Oh! I must intrude on this conversation, my apologies for doing so. I must say, out of all the Role Plays out there, the written formats catch my attention. You get so much creativity with it all, reading different people's views, how they interact with your character, and etc. Not to mention it's addicting, and you can picture it so much better then you would playing a game such as World of Warcraft.
Don't get me wrong, I've played games like that too. They're brilliant, but a waste of money. There are better things out there that are free, so what's the point of even paying for an online game?
Well, as for types of RPs in written format...
Wolf ones tend to irritate me, they can be gorgeous if well written and if it has a decent plot, don't get me wrong. Yet, a lot of new people seemingly go to them, and the plots are terrible. Most of the people can't even spell, or read a coherent sentence. I've seen other animal RPs like this, and I have to admit; it deters me.
I'd have to lean on fantasy, however. It's interesting to see different worlds from our own, even to where there's different species. It adds onto the joy of writing, in my opinion. Sure, it requires a lot of thinking, but it's worth it in the end part. Imagination has always been a key point with me, which is most likely why I love this genre more then any other.
Ah, I suppose I should quit talking now~

No intrusion love, it's welcome for all. And talk as much as you please!
Anyway I agree with the wolf part. Seeing they are becoming trash almost, as in saying they are made, used for a few days, and abandoned. Not even recycled. A waist of hosting names for the more creative rp I must say. Still I have seen recent ones that have taken it to the next level and made it up there!
As for fantasy still I bleed for deer! Always me with the weird things! But anyways once I get my cult of deer obsessed people I'll be happy if not ecstatic.
Weird, you make me want to express myself more! But that's why I love you! It brings out the interesting in me <3

Oh yes, it really is a waste of space. I've seen some with such pretty names, and they're usually dead, or full of people who don't seem to know anything about RPing. Don't get me wrong, I love to help new people getting into RPing! It's acceptable on some notes, but having someone like that run a site of such standards is a bit, out there?
Deer, huh? I can't say I'd support you there, dear. I've stirred away from the animal RPs as of late, I haven't the muse to bother with them. I'm sticking to my site in the mean time, for I've put to much dedication for it to go to waste. Decent RPs are a dying breed, and those with potential should stay on top! None the less, people's obsessions seems to be mingling with RP. As has chatspeak and various other things. It kills the fun, truly, it does.
Thats good! More people need to express themselves, instead of sitting there and tending to a cultish need or following. If that makes any sense~

I know you never had tended to find them something of interest of late. Nor have I but recently I've had an urge. Do you get those? I guess, I mean I don't rp a person just because. Still I need something new and out of the ordinary. I like anime rp and person, but I've strayed so far from the animal community it draws me back with a new urge. Not that I want strictly deer, but more fantasy as of having them change into people. Does that make sense? I guess *shrugs* and don't bash cults. Some are useful and some crack me up.
Off Topic Note: Like the cult of the guy who claimed himself god but needed glasses. Find a problem in that sentence?
Anyways I don't want the normal animal thing going on, but more of something out of the blue that is so unique and un heard of everyone is curious and at least wants to read about it. Again does that make sense?
And my beloved friend you have an essence of inspiration. Then again so do all others! But it is different from anyone else. Some inspire great, and some inspire to destroy the great. But whatever.
I'm sure we have begun to bore Cathora by now! We need her back in the conversation!

My my, I'm not bashing cults. I just know of bad cult followings and fads, that want you to think like them and don't want you to state your mind. I find their influence very bad, but that's just me.
Ah yes, I've had those urges for something new, and most of the time it was a complete failure. Thus far, I really do enjoy my Pandora Hearts RP, however. It's just so brilliant, and the characters are well thought out~ Well, that's not the point.
Oh yes, some cults are hilarious. I must admit to that. I must say I'm part of the RP cult, hm? Also, I'm sorry Cathora! I shall shush long enough for you to rejoin this conversation~

Hey, you're fine! Don't worry about me, I find it interesting to read. One RP I definitely don't like are the completely realistic ones. It seems like anything you can do in those, you can just go out and do in real life. I don't know, maybe if you're too young or something, but I just don't see the fun in it. I do like fantasy role plays, but it seems rather hard to find a decent one, and I don't think I have the dedication to make one myself. It seems like all Proboards Support has now are Twilight and Harry Potter, with a few poorly done role plays mixed in.

It seems like all Proboards Support has now are Twilight and Harry Potter, with a few poorly done role plays mixed in. I was thinking that >.> In fact I'm on PBS right now trying to find something decent. Lets see.... Twilight, Torchwood, twilight, Torchwood/Dr. Who, Harry pooter, some animal... Yeah it's a repetitive thing. Anywho... I finally decided I will start a deer rpg as a side project and once I finish it and hopefully find someone to help I will open it up, see what happens, and if it bombs oh well *shrugs* Anyways realistic rp's are all the same. Highschool/college/bording school type thing.

Yes, real life RPs are dull, which is why such things like Twilight deter me further. It's like current times... With sparkly vampires and what not, plus they go to school. Why would you want to act out going to school, when you could get plenty of the annoying thing in real life? It seems... Odd.
I do agree though, fantasy RPs are hard to come across. While I would say the one I'm tending to now is unique, it's also based on an alternate universe. Pandora Hearts, as you heard me bring up. Yet, I find it much better then Harry Potter or Twilight... The plot and characters are stunning, and seeing how the people act them simply amazes me. Not to mention, we're like a family there. Something you don't get on a lot of sites, to say the least. Oh, but I'm rambling~
As I said, decent RPs are a dying breed, sadly. It takes a lot to make on, not the mention effort. It's worth it in the end result, though. As I see it.

A sad thing is I've often joined sites that had a lot of potential, and were at least moderately active. Then, one day the administrator just stops coming on, and soon what was once a great role play becomes a ghost town. I think if for whatever reason you decide to leave your site, you should at least pick a member to take over administrating. Just because you don't want to do it anymore, it doesn't mean your members should have to leave.

^ I totally agree with that Cathora. When I was a younger new Roleplayer I found a great starter that helped you advnce. Then one day the adminleft. She gave word, and I knew people were sad, but she still never offered adminship up to a G-Mod who could run the website in her absence. Hopefully I won't disapoint people like that, but I guess as a warning school will suck some of my time away, but no fretting! I will try to get on once a day!
